Saving for a down payment is often the biggest barrier to buying your first home. We help close that gap.
In an effort to increase home ownership in the City of Akron, the city is sponsoring a first time homebuyer down payment and closing cost assistance program with EANDC. This program is funded through the HUD Home Program. You can contact us at (330) 773-6838 line 9, if you have any questions.
Eligibility
Forgivable down payment amount of $7,500
Certification of homebuyer education within the last two years with a HUD-approved counseling agency
No BANKRUPTCY or FORECLOSURE 2 years prior
Property must be located within the city limits of Akron
Must not have been a property owner in the past 3 years.
The home must be OWNER OCCUPIED.
Funds will disperse on a “first-come first serve basis”.
