City of akron first time homebuyer down payment assistance program 2026

Saving for a down payment is often the biggest barrier to buying your first home. We help close that gap.

This year the City of Akron is partnering with EANDC to help future first time homebuyers in the City of Akron with their first down payment. This program is funded through the HUD Program. The property must be located in the City of Akron. Anyone who is qualified has to take our homebuyer education classes that are offered for free until November of 2026. In addition, anyone must not have been a property owner in the past 3 years.
